ONVO L90 Launched in China from RMB 265,800: Six- and Seven-Seat Electric SUV

Hangzhou, August 3, 2025 — ONVO, NIO’s family-oriented brand, launched the L90 large electric SUV in China on July 31. The six-seat Pro starts at RMB 265,800 with a purchased battery, or RMB 179,800 under the battery-as-a-service (BaaS) subscription. The L90 also comes with a seven-seat layout and Max and Ultra trims. Six-seat deliveries began on August 1; NIO said seven-seat deliveries would start in late September. These figures are China launch prices, not export quotations.

Space, Design and Storage

The L90 is 5,145 mm long with a 3,110 mm wheelbase. NIO says the 900V electric platform makes room for a 240 L powered front trunk as well as 430 L of rear luggage space with all three seating rows in use. The available six- and seven-seat cabins suit different family needs. Five body colors were announced for the Chinese launch: Ridge Brown, Stellar Silver, Sunrise Gold, Mountain Black and Snowcap White. NIO quotes a drag coefficient of 0.25.

Cabin and Comfort

Both seating layouts include heated seats in all rows, while ventilation and massage functions are offered for the first and second rows, according to NIO. The six-seat version has a one-touch reclining zero-gravity second-row seat; the seven-seat model uses a folding and sliding second row for access to the back. NIO lists 23 speakers, a 17.2-inch 3K center display and a 17.3-inch roof-mounted entertainment display. Equipment can vary by trim, so buyers should confirm the configuration of the specific vehicle.

Powertrain, Battery and Charging

The rear-wheel-drive L90 uses a 340 kW rear motor and has a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds. The all-wheel-drive version produces 440 kW in total and is quoted at 4.7 seconds. An 85 kWh swappable battery is standard, with up to 605 km of CLTC-rated range. The model supports NIO’s battery swap network in China and is built on a 900V platform. Charging and swap availability outside China must be checked locally; range and charging times depend on use and conditions.

Safety and Smart Features

NIO says the L90 has nine airbags as standard, including coverage along the three seating rows, and a suite of active safety and driver assistance features. Its ONVO smart cabin runs on NIO’s SkyOS architecture, with a voice assistant and multiple cabin displays. Assisted driving still requires an attentive driver, and supported functions can vary with software, trim and region. Buyers should check the exact vehicle and local regulatory requirements.
