Leapmotor B01 vs Geely Preface: Electric Sedan or Petrol and HEV Alternative?

B01 and Preface offer different sedan ownership arrangements. Compare a specific BEV with an exact petrol or non-plug-in HEV configuration rather than comparing family names.
Named configurations used in this guide
| Exact version | Energy / drive | Battery or engine reference | Published electric range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leapmotor B01 590 Yuexiang BEV China Version | BEV / RWD | 60.8 kWh | 590 km CLTC |
| Leapmotor B01 670 Yuexiang BEV China Version | BEV / RWD | 69.7 kWh | 670 km CLTC |
| Geely Preface (Xingrui) i-HEV Lingyun HEV China Version | Non-plug-in HEV / FWD | 1.5 L hybrid four-cylinder | Not an electric-range comparison |
| Geely Preface (Xingrui) 1.5TD Jinghong Petrol China Version | Petrol / FWD | 1.5T petrol | Not an electric-range comparison |
Charging access is a practical dividing question
B01 is a battery-electric sedan, so investigate regular charging and the longer routes actually planned. Preface petrol and non-plug-in HEV columns use a different energy arrangement and do not create an external-charging requirement from the HEV name. Include engine and transmission maintenance in their ownership comparison. Neither arrangement can be chosen responsibly from a single rated figure.
The bodies need their own passenger demonstration
B01 cites 4,770 mm length and a 2,735 mm wheelbase; current Preface petrol and i-HEV references cite 4,825 mm and 2,800 mm. Those dimensions do not prove a fixed comfort advantage. Check rear-seat use, ordinary luggage, parking access and the selected seat functions in each actual car. A brochure view is not an allocated-vehicle inspection.
Build complete offers with different technical fields
For B01, keep battery, motor, range and charging equipment visible. For Preface, keep engine, gearbox, energy designation and fuel requirements visible. Compare inspection and delivery scope on the same commercial basis, while preserving the technical differences. Avoid presenting one unsupported cost-per-kilometre result without the buyer’s charging, fuel and route assumptions.
Use the shortlist without losing the configuration
The table deliberately names complete versions. A shared range number, badge or photograph does not establish matching cabin equipment. For each shortlisted car, request the full factory designation, production record and selected options. Mark essential features as standard, optional or unresolved. Keep translated names alongside the original factory wording so the inspector and supplier can identify the same column.
Manufacturer range, charging and output figures retain their stated test basis; they are not guaranteed road results. Combined EREV or PHEV range includes fuel, while electric-only range does not. Engine and motor peaks should not be added to invent a system rating. A model-family image does not establish available stock, exact trim or delivered software functions.
Related buying checks
To turn this comparison into an acceptance record, use the customs clearance and vehicle approval checklist. Have the destination assess the actual vehicle specification and approval route separately from customs release before scheduling road use.
Turn the decision into a sourcing enquiry
Send the selected version, quantity, preferred exterior and interior colours, destination country and port. Request an itemized offer identifying the allocation basis, chosen equipment, inspection scope and shipment scope. When a VIN is allocated, reconcile its vehicle record with the accepted specification and record any proposed change before shipment. Destination eligibility and local service arrangements must be assessed for the actual car, not inferred from a China brochure. Request a configuration-matched quotation.
