Geely Preface 1.5TD vs 2.0TD: Engine, Gearbox and Grade Comparison

Preface turbo-petrol grades do not all use the same engine and transmission. Compare the 1.5TD and 2.0TD packages before choosing cabin equipment.

Engine and gearbox change together in this matrix
The 1.5TD petrol reference cites 133 kW and 290 Nm with a seven-speed wet DCT. The 2.0TD group cites 200 kW and 400 Nm with an eight-speed automatic. These manufacturer engine references describe different powertrains, not different translations of the same car. An enquiry stating only Preface automatic leaves that distinction unresolved.
Equipment still varies within an engine group
Jinghong, Fuyao and Kunlun are separate 1.5TD columns; Xiaohan, Lanxing and Wangyue are separate 2.0TD columns. Limited Custom entries also have their own factory designations. Ask which grade supplies each essential cabin, parking and wheel feature. A higher engine output does not, by itself, prove inclusion of the preferred seat or camera functions.
Use a complete powertrain description in the offer
Record engine designation, transmission, equipment grade, selected options and allocation basis. Check the vehicle record against all of them during inspection. Plan local servicing for the actual engine and gearbox rather than the family badge. Where economy or acceleration claims are separately supplied, keep their test method and exact configuration instead of deriving them from peak output.
Use the shortlist without losing the configuration
The table deliberately names complete versions. A shared range number, badge or photograph does not establish matching cabin equipment. For each shortlisted car, request the full factory designation, production record and selected options. Mark essential features as standard, optional or unresolved. Keep translated names alongside the original factory wording so the inspector and supplier can identify the same column.
Manufacturer range, charging and output figures retain their stated test basis; they are not guaranteed road results. Combined EREV or PHEV range includes fuel, while electric-only range does not. Engine and motor peaks should not be added to invent a system rating. A model-family image does not establish available stock, exact trim or delivered software functions.
Related buying checks
To turn this comparison into an acceptance record, use the customs clearance and vehicle approval checklist. Have the destination assess the actual vehicle specification and approval route separately from customs release before scheduling road use.
Turn the decision into a sourcing enquiry
Send the selected version, quantity, preferred exterior and interior colours, destination country and port. Request an itemized offer identifying the allocation basis, chosen equipment, inspection scope and shipment scope. When a VIN is allocated, reconcile its vehicle record with the accepted specification and record any proposed change before shipment. Destination eligibility and local service arrangements must be assessed for the actual car, not inferred from a China brochure. Request a configuration-matched quotation.
