Chinese EV Pre-Delivery Checks: Do Not Overlook the Low-Voltage System

Chinese EV Pre-Delivery Checks: Do Not Overlook the Low-Voltage System

Leapmotor B01 manufacturer model-family reference
Manufacturer model-family reference; allocated stock, exact grade and equipment must be verified separately.

An EV’s traction-battery rating does not describe its low-voltage system. Include observable starting, display and warning behaviour in the agreed pre-delivery inspection scope.

Named configurations used in this guide

Exact version Energy / drive Battery or engine reference Published electric range
Leapmotor B01 590 Shuxiang BEV China Version BEV / RWD 60.8 kWh 590 km CLTC
Leapmotor B10 540 Shuxiang BEV China Version BEV / RWD 60.8 kWh 540 km CLTC
Leapmotor A10 403 Shuxiang BEV China Version BEV / FWD 39.8 kWh 403 km CLTC

Keep the two battery discussions separate

B01 and B10 publish traction-battery capacity in the configuration table, but that number is not a low-voltage battery specification or condition report. Obtain the relevant vehicle documentation if low-voltage hardware details are needed. Do not infer its chemistry, voltage or maintenance requirements from the large traction battery’s LFP or NMC designation.

Ask a competent inspector to report observed behaviour

Within a safe manufacturer-aligned scope, record vehicle identity, normal wake-up or start procedure, displayed warnings and any disclosed faults. A dashboard photograph shows the observed state at that time; it does not prove every electrical component is healthy. Any instrument testing or service assessment should use an agreed competent method rather than improvised battery interventions.

Document an issue before the car leaves

If abnormal behaviour is observed, request a clear issue description, agreed resolution and repeat observation after the work. Keep the evidence linked to the allocated VIN and date. Do not erase a warning from the record merely because it was not present in a later photograph. The acceptance question is whether disclosed findings have been resolved or explicitly accepted before shipment.

Use the shortlist without losing the configuration

The table deliberately names complete versions. A shared range number, badge or photograph does not establish matching cabin equipment. For each shortlisted car, request the full factory designation, production record and selected options. Mark essential features as standard, optional or unresolved. Keep translated names alongside the original factory wording so the inspector and supplier can identify the same column.

Manufacturer range, charging and output figures retain their stated test basis; they are not guaranteed road results. Combined EREV or PHEV range includes fuel, while electric-only range does not. Engine and motor peaks should not be added to invent a system rating. A model-family image does not establish available stock, exact trim or delivered software functions.

Related buying checks

To turn this comparison into an acceptance record, use the customs clearance and vehicle approval checklist. Have the destination assess the actual vehicle specification and approval route separately from customs release before scheduling road use.

Turn the decision into a sourcing enquiry

Send the selected version, quantity, preferred exterior and interior colours, destination country and port. Request an itemized offer identifying the allocation basis, chosen equipment, inspection scope and shipment scope. When a VIN is allocated, reconcile its vehicle record with the accepted specification and record any proposed change before shipment. Destination eligibility and local service arrangements must be assessed for the actual car, not inferred from a China brochure. Request a configuration-matched quotation.
