Ordering a Six- or Eight-Seat MPV: Verify the Factory Layout Before Shipment

A model family can contain multiple factory seating arrangements. Make seat count and layout observable requirements when ordering an MPV from China.

Fix passenger count before cabin options

The L380 650 AWD table permits six or eight seats, while other selected columns have their own seating references. A grade name alone therefore does not settle the cabin. State the required passenger count and exact factory layout in the accepted order. Ask for documentation and a complete cabin view instead of inferring the arrangement from a luxury second-row photograph.

Treat seat count and access as different checks

A vehicle can have the requested number of seats while its access is unsuitable for the passengers. Demonstrate boarding and movement to every row, with the seats adjusted for ordinary travel. Check how doors, aisles and folding or sliding functions work on the actual cabin. If passengers have particular access needs, turn those into a practical demonstration rather than a vague “comfortable MPV” requirement.

Keep all seats in the luggage demonstration

Ask for the usual luggage load with the intended passenger positions available. A maximum cargo image with seats folded answers a different question. Record the layout used in photographs so everyone understands what the load demonstration establishes. Also measure parking access, roof clearance and space to operate doors in the vehicle’s normal location.

Avoid undocumented cabin substitutions

If a supplier proposes a different layout or altered seating, request a fresh factory description and have the destination importer assess the exact vehicle documentation. Do not assume changing the number of visible seats creates an equivalent factory configuration. The allocation acceptance should confirm seat count, layout, equipment and condition together, with any proposed change reviewed before shipment.

Turn the comparison into an order

Start with the complete factory designation, then record the battery, drive, seat layout and equipment you require. Ask for an itemized quotation with the vehicle allocation basis, selected options, inspection and shipment scope. A family image illustrates the model; it does not show available stock or prove the exact trim. When a VIN is allocated, compare its vehicle record and inspection findings with the accepted specification.

To turn this comparison into an acceptance record, use the customs clearance and vehicle approval checklist. Have the destination assess the actual vehicle specification and approval route separately from customs release before scheduling road use.
