Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM-i vs EM-P Yaoye: A Package Name Can Change the Powertrain

The Xingyao 8 Yaoye designation is more than a colour description. Compare the exact EM-i or EM-P column before accepting a quotation.

Keep the energy badge in the factory name

The current four-column reference separates three 225 EM-i Long Range grades from a 225 EM-P Xinghe Yaoye package. All show a 225 km CLTC electric-only reference and 28.3 kWh battery, but the engine and motor specifications differ. Similar range and battery figures therefore do not establish an interchangeable powertrain.

Record the differences that the shared range hides

The EM-i reference lists a 175 kW electric motor and an 82 kW engine, while the Yaoye EM-P column lists 180 kW and 120 kW. Do not add engine and motor peak outputs to invent a system rating; their individual figures are not proof of simultaneous output. Keep the factory engine designation and published system figures, where supplied, separate.

Cabin equipment still needs its own comparison

Hanghai, Yuanyang and Xinghe are distinct grades even within EM-i. Mark powered tailgate, heated steering wheel, seat functions, cameras and selected assistance hardware individually. A photograph of a high-grade cabin is insufficient evidence for a lower-grade offer. A clear comparison identifies whether a feature is standard, optional, promotional or absent for the selected column.

Prevent a package from disappearing during allocation

Put the full Yaoye package and EM-P wording in the accepted specification if that is the requested car. Require a fresh comparison if the supplier proposes an EM-i substitute. Confirm the allocated vehicle record, engine and option package before shipment, and ask for the functions that matter to be demonstrated during inspection. This protects a concrete requirement without assuming that every package has the same export support.

Turn the comparison into an order

Start with the complete factory designation, then record the battery, drive, seat layout and equipment you require. Ask for an itemized quotation with the vehicle allocation basis, selected options, inspection and shipment scope. A family image illustrates the model; it does not show available stock or prove the exact trim. When a VIN is allocated, compare its vehicle record and inspection findings with the accepted specification.

To turn this comparison into an acceptance record, use the customs clearance and vehicle approval checklist. Have the destination assess the actual vehicle specification and approval route separately from customs release before scheduling road use.
