2026 MG Cyberster and MG5 Launched in China: Prices and Key Updates

Shanghai, July 1, 2025 — MG introduced its 2026 model-year Cyberster electric roadster and MG5 sport sedan in China on June 30. The Cyberster range has three configurations with official prices of RMB 319,800–359,800. The MG5 has four configurations; MG advertised a limited-time trade-in price of RMB 59,900–69,900, subject to the offer’s terms. These are Chinese-market launch figures. Availability and specifications in other countries may differ.

2026 MG Cyberster: Convertible Updates

The electric two-seat roadster gains Iris Green and Andes Grey exterior paint choices, plus red-black and grey-white cabin color schemes. MG says it retuned rear spring stiffness and front and rear damping to balance handling with daily comfort. A new wind deflector is claimed to reduce cabin turbulence by up to 90%, while power lumbar support was added for the driver and passenger. Exact equipment depends on configuration and market.

Cyberster Pricing and Ownership

MG announced three Cyberster 2026 configurations priced from RMB 319,800 to RMB 359,800 in China. The company also described a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty for the first non-commercial owner, along with lifetime coverage for core electric-drive components and a home charger with basic installation under its Chinese launch terms. Buyers outside China should verify local warranty, charging and equipment terms rather than assuming those launch benefits apply abroad.

2026 MG5: Design and Driving

The updated MG5 retains its fastback-style profile. MG highlights its 1,842 mm body width, a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds for the relevant configuration, XDS cornering control and a variable-section rear suspension. The car adds Bubble Orange and Andes Grey paint choices. These manufacturer claims describe the Chinese launch range; a buyer should check the drivetrain and equipment of a specific trim.

MG5 Cabin Changes

MG describes a new orange-and-black interior option, more soft-touch surfaces, an eight-speaker audio system with an eight-inch physical subwoofer and Arkamys digital sound processing, plus 256-color ambient lighting. The features vary by configuration. MG also announced a limited-time Chinese trade-in offer and service benefits; these promotional terms should be confirmed at the point of purchase.

Export Considerations

The Cyberster and MG5 address different uses: an electric convertible and a practical sport sedan. International customers should confirm the exact model year, trim, charging standard for the Cyberster, local certification, warranty eligibility and parts support before ordering. Auto From China can assess sourcing and shipping for a specified destination.
