Leapmotor Lafa5 vs Lafa5 Ultra: More Than a Range-Number Change

Standard Lafa5 and Ultra configurations are not interchangeable hatchback grades. Motor output, body dimensions and range naming must remain visible in the order.

Ultra has its own body and propulsion reference
Standard Lafa5 cites 4,430 × 1,880 × 1,520 mm, while Ultra cites 4,490 × 1,880 × 1,510 mm. Ultra’s motor reference is 180 kW. Standard 515 Plus cites 132 kW and other captured standard columns cite 160 kW. Those distinctions make a generic Lafa5 quotation inadequate for an Ultra requirement.
The battery groups use different range designations
Standard 515 and Ultra 500 share a 56.2 kWh reference; standard 605 and Ultra 600 cite 67.1 kWh. A common battery reference does not establish the same rated distance, body or equipment. Preserve the Ultra designation with the chosen 500 or 600 column, instead of copying a standard hatchback range into the performance version.
Inspect the hardware behind the performance description
Request the selected wheels, tyres, suspension and cabin equipment on a marked factory specification. Do not infer every sporting feature from a promotional photograph. Check destination tyre and service support for the exact equipment. Manufacturer acceleration or charging headlines, if separately quoted, should retain their conditions and should not replace a vehicle-specific acceptance check.
Use the shortlist without losing the configuration
The table deliberately names complete versions. A shared range number, badge or photograph does not establish matching cabin equipment. For each shortlisted car, request the full factory designation, production record and selected options. Mark essential features as standard, optional or unresolved. Keep translated names alongside the original factory wording so the inspector and supplier can identify the same column.
Manufacturer range, charging and output figures retain their stated test basis; they are not guaranteed road results. Combined EREV or PHEV range includes fuel, while electric-only range does not. Engine and motor peaks should not be added to invent a system rating. A model-family image does not establish available stock, exact trim or delivered software functions.
Related buying checks
To turn this comparison into an acceptance record, use the charging acceptance checklist for a China-market EV. Use the installed ports, electrical limits and a demonstration with the intended equipment to turn a charging assumption into an acceptance record.
Turn the decision into a sourcing enquiry
Send the selected version, quantity, preferred exterior and interior colours, destination country and port. Request an itemized offer identifying the allocation basis, chosen equipment, inspection scope and shipment scope. When a VIN is allocated, reconcile its vehicle record with the accepted specification and record any proposed change before shipment. Destination eligibility and local service arrangements must be assessed for the actual car, not inferred from a China brochure. Request a configuration-matched quotation.
