Name the actual warranty provider

A car may be offered with a domestic manufacturer reference, seller support or a separate service contract. Ask which legal entity provides the arrangement you are buying and obtain its actual terms. Keep each arrangement separate. A manufacturer’s marketing warranty description in one market does not establish an identical warranty for a privately exported China vehicle.

Match the terms to the VIN and destination

Ask for written confirmation of the eligible vehicle, production-year trim, territory, starting date and duration or distance limits. Check whether export, previous registration, commercial use or changes to the vehicle affect the offered scope. If a term is unclear, ask the provider to explain it in writing before treating it as part of the quotation.

Follow one repair through the process

Use a practical example: the car develops a fault after arrival. Who diagnoses it, who authorizes the repair and which workshop can carry out the work? Ask how parts are supplied and whether labour, shipping, diagnostics, taxes, towing or temporary transport are included. Do not assume that the workshop nearest you is automatically an authorized repair route.

Review battery and software questions separately

Request the battery terms and any applicable assessment method rather than assuming every reduction in displayed range is covered. Confirm whether the battery is owned with the vehicle or subject to a separate arrangement. Ask how software faults, account access, updates and connected services are handled at the destination. Hardware coverage does not establish a promise that every app will operate overseas.

Keep the evidence ready for a claim

Retain the final terms, invoice, vehicle schedule, inspection, handover record and required service evidence. Ask how a claim is submitted, what information is needed and who responds. A useful support offer explains a real route to assessment and repair. Compare that route, exclusions and costs when choosing between suppliers instead of comparing only the headline number of years.

Written question Answer to request
Provider Legal entity and contact
Eligibility VIN, territory and start date

Buyer questions

Is a China warranty automatically valid abroad?

Confirm the actual provider’s terms and written eligibility for the exported vehicle and destination.

Does warranty support mean parts are locally stocked?

No. Ask how parts are obtained and who pays the associated costs.

What belongs in the quotation?

Identify the offered warranty arrangement and attach or reference its terms, rather than writing only “warranty included”.

Prepare your enquiry

Identify the provider, eligible vehicle, territory, service route and excluded costs before relying on an overseas warranty offer. Send the exact vehicle requirement, quantity and destination for an itemized quotation.
