Li Auto i8 Launched in China: Three Trims from RMB 321,800, 5C Battery and Standard AWD

Beijing, August 1, 2025 — Li Auto officially launched the six-seat Li i8 battery-electric SUV on July 29. The China-market lineup comprises Pro, Max and Ultra trims at RMB 321,800, RMB 349,800 and RMB 369,800, respectively. The company said deliveries would begin on August 20, 2025. All three versions come with dual-motor all-wheel drive, LiDAR and a 5C charging battery. These are China retail prices; export availability and landed cost depend on the destination market.

Design and Everyday Practicality

The i8 measures 5,085 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,740 mm high, with a 3,050 mm wheelbase. Li Auto quotes a drag coefficient of 0.218 for its streamlined body. Its standard dual-chamber air suspension offers four height settings and up to 196 mm of ground clearance. A front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension support the six-seat family layout.

Six-Seat Cabin

Inside, the 2+2+2 seating arrangement gives passengers individual second-row seats and a usable third row. The right-hand second-row seat offers a zero-gravity position. Li Auto quotes 565 mm of luggage-compartment depth with all three rows in use. Equipment differs by trim, so buyers should verify the cabin, entertainment and comfort features of the exact vehicle before ordering.

LiDAR and Assisted Driving

LiDAR is standard across the range, but the computing hardware and assisted-driving package differ. The Pro uses Li AD Pro with a Horizon Robotics J6M chip rated at 128 TOPS. The Max and Ultra use Li AD Max with an NVIDIA Thor-U chip rated at 700 TOPS. Li Auto described a planned rollout of its VLA driver model to compatible AD Max vehicles alongside i8 deliveries. Assisted-driving functions require driver supervision and may vary by software version and market.

Battery, Range and Charging

Li Auto specifies two 5C ternary-lithium battery capacities: 90.1 kWh with a 670 km CLTC rating, and 97.8 kWh with a 720 km CLTC rating. All-wheel drive is standard. The company says a compatible 5C charger can add up to 500 km of CLTC-rated range in 10 minutes under its stated conditions. Real-world range and charging speed vary with temperature, road use, battery state and charger availability.

Market Position

Li Auto entered the battery-electric six-seat SUV segment with the i8 while retaining the family-oriented cabin layout of its larger models.
