Exterior Design

The new XPeng P7’s clean-surface body eliminates superfluous creases, integrating lighting, sensors, and functional elements seamlessly into its sculpted panels. Key highlights include:

  • XMART FACE front fascia with 1.4 m full-width “Lightblade” headlamp, five dynamic light signature modes.

  • Flush black illuminated logo (aerodynamic and wind drag reducing).

  • Active grille shutters with 16 high-gloss black vanes to balance aerodynamics and cooling.

  • Frunk capacity: 56 L.

  • Body dimensions: 5017 × 1970 × 1427 mm (height 1407 mm with air suspension), wheelbase 3008 mm, drag coefficient 0.201 Cd.

At the rear, a full-width taillight with 220 LEDs and five light modes complements an active electric spoiler adjustable through 10 levels, generating up to 900 N downforce at 230 km/h. Six exterior colors are available: Rhythm Yellow, Starmist Purple, Starblue, Starlake Green, Crescent Silver, and Stardust Gray.

Interior & Technology

The cabin features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch center display with tri-axis motorized adjustment, and an 87-inch AR-HUD. Power comes from a combination of three XPeng Turing AI chips and the Snapdragon 8295P, enabling fully local deployment of large AI models for intelligent driving (VLA) and smart cabin (VLM).

Other highlights:

  • Nappa leather sports seats with Dinamica suede bolsters, 16-way adjustment, ventilation, heating, massage, and integrated audio in the headrests.

  • Three interior color themes: Deep Space Gray, Celestial Gray, and Planet Purple.

  • Touch Pad smart door controls with customizable shortcuts linked to ambient lighting.

  • 23-speaker 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos audio system, four-zone microphones for in/out communication.

  • 575 L rear cargo (expandable to 1929 L with seats folded).

Powertrain & Performance

  • RWD variants: 270 kW (367 hp) rear motor, LFP or NCM battery.

  • AWD Performance variant: 437 kW (594 hp) total output, 0–100 km/h in 3.7 s.

  • Energy efficiency: as low as 12 kWh/100 km CLTC.

  • Suspension: Double-wishbone front / five-link rear, adaptive air suspension.

Competitive Landscape

The P7’s direct rivals include Tesla Model 3, Xiaomi SU7, and Zeekr 007. While the Xiaomi SU7 leans toward a higher proportion of female buyers, the new P7’s aggressive stance, advanced AI hardware, and sporty proportions are likely to appeal more to male enthusiasts.

Editorial Take

The all-new XPeng P7 is more than a generational update — it signals a bold new design direction and pushes XPeng’s tech stack to the forefront of the EV sedan market. The combination of high-output AI hardware, minimalist aesthetics, and ultra-fast charging strengthens its position against both established and new rivals. Whether it can translate its head-turning design into sustained sales will depend on execution, but XPeng has given the P7 every tool it needs to be a leader in China’s premium electric sedan segment.
