2026 IM L6 Arrives in China with 850 km Range and Steer-by-Wire

China, September 29, 2026. IM Motors put the revised L6 on sale in China on August 28. The five-version line-up includes Max, Pro Max and Ultra, plus two Prof. Jimmy Choo limited editions. Launch benefit prices were RMB 199,900–259,900, with the 850 km Pro Max at RMB 217,900. Those domestic offers are time-sensitive and are not export quotations.

More range, with a different cabin

The longest-range L6 is a rear-wheel-drive Pro Max with a 93 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and an 850 km CLTC rating. The entry Max has a 76 kWh pack and a 725 km rating. The dual-motor Ultra uses a 103 kWh ternary battery, quotes 840 km CLTC and reaches 100 km/h in a claimed 2.74 seconds. Buyers should keep those three versions separate: the quickest L6 is not the one with the longest rated range.

All versions use the new 800V NEO electrical architecture. IM cites a peak charging power of 396 kW and says 15 minutes can add up to 580 km of rated range under suitable conditions. Charger output, battery temperature and state of charge will affect the result. The car measures 4,924 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,474 mm high, on a 2,950 mm wheelbase.

Steering and day-to-day details

The new L6 brings a steer-by-wire chassis across the range, alongside four-wheel steering. That hardware is a more meaningful change than the styling alone: rear-wheel steering helps a large sedan turn in tight streets and car parks. The front keeps the low, smooth nose of the L6, while the rear has a full-width lamp and a small integrated lip.

Inside, IM has replaced the previous lower touch panel with physical controls and a wireless phone charging area. A 26.3-inch central display and a 15.5-inch passenger screen sit above them. The launch specification also highlights B&O audio, a small temperature-controlled compartment and IM’s voice assistant. Equipment may differ between ordinary and limited editions, so a trim sheet matters more than a single launch photograph.
