2025 XPeng G7 Officially Launched: From RMB 195,800, CLTC Range up to 702 km, AI Compute Power 2250 TOPS

Guangzhou, July 3, 2025 — XPeng Motors has officially launched the G7, a mid-size pure electric SUV aimed at family-oriented buyers, offering exceptional range, cutting-edge AI capability, and premium comfort features. Three variants are available, priced from RMB 195,800 to RMB 225,800, with a CLTC range of up to 702 km and an industry-leading 2250 TOPS AI compute power from XPeng’s proprietary Turing chips.

Exterior Design

The G7 adopts XPeng’s second-generation X FACE front design, featuring a three-segment LED daytime running light signature and a split headlamp layout with integrated aerodynamic ducts. An active grille shutter enhances aerodynamics and cooling efficiency.

From the side, a sleek window profile flows over a full-bodied silhouette, with particular emphasis on rear headroom. Dimensions measure 4892 × 1925 × 1655 mm with a 2890 mm wheelbase. Frameless side mirrors integrate heating, memory, blind spot detection, and a blue indicator light for ADAS engagement. Both rows feature quiet soft-close doors with flush pop-out handles. The G7 rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/45 R20 tires.

At the rear, a minimalist design is highlighted by XPeng’s signature full-width LED tail light. A rear blue ADAS indicator provides visual feedback when autonomous functions are active. Six exterior colors are available: Star Day Gray, Crescent Silver, Nebula White, Midnight Black, Cloud Beige, and Galaxy Green.

Interior and Cabin Technology

Inside, the G7 follows XPeng’s minimalist design philosophy with sustainable materials and PVD eco-friendly metal-effect finishes. A 256-color diffuse ambient lighting system creates an immersive atmosphere, available in Mystic Blue, Warm Orange, Majestic Gray, and Deep Space Gray.

The cockpit combines a two-spoke steering wheel with a 15.6-inch floating central display, powered by the Turing AI chip and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P for a 26x compute power boost. The VLM AI cabin brain supports natural human-vehicle conversation, proactive in-cabin assistance, and even offline voice commands for functions such as autonomous parking.

Seating is a highlight: Nappa leather “Cloud Comfort” seats with 12-layer structure and 30 mm cushioning are certified for baby-safe materials. All seats offer ventilation, heating, massage, and power adjustment, while the rear seats include fold-out tables and an 8-inch entertainment display. A panoramic glass roof blocks most UV and infrared rays, enhancing openness and rear visibility.

The cabin offers over 39 storage spaces, including a washable front trunk, magnetic open storage, and a hidden 120 L underfloor rear compartment, expandable from 819 L to 2277 L. Sound insulation is comprehensive, with 36 sound-absorbing pads and 28 cavity partitions, delivering cabin quietness surpassing many luxury SUVs priced above RMB 500,000.

AI Compute Power and Autonomous Driving

The G7 is the first production vehicle equipped with three proprietary XPeng Turing AI chips, delivering a combined 2250 TOPS — equivalent to nine NVIDIA Orin-X chips. The pure vision-based AI Eagle Eye perception system uses VLA-OL architecture, evolving from continuous reinforcement learning to autonomous reinforcement learning.

Key autonomous capabilities include:

  • Road hazard avoidance (sinkholes, potholes)

  • Emergency vehicle detection and yielding

  • Intelligent lane changes in traffic without network dependency

The system integrates VLM (Visual-Language Model) for perception and VLA (Visual-Language-Action) for executing driving actions, enabling explainable AI decision-making. Future OTA updates will further integrate VLM and VLA functions.

Powertrain and Charging

The G7 uses a single rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 218 kW and 450 Nm, enabling 0–100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 202 km/h. Power comes from a LFP battery (from CALB) on an 800V SiC high-voltage platform with 5C ultra-fast charging.

  • 702 km CLTC range (80.8 kWh)

  • 10%–80% charging in 12 minutes

  • 10 minutes of charging adds up to 436 km

  • 13.2 kWh/100 km consumption

  • 6 kW V2L external power output capability

Chassis and Ride Comfort

The XPeng Taiji AI chassis features adaptive dampers, front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, and Taiji hydraulic bushing matrix. The AI system recognizes road conditions up to 200 m ahead and adjusts damper settings within 300 ms, with up to 1000 adjustments per second. The 6D anti-motion-sickness system proactively smooths bumps, speed bumps, and uneven surfaces, with road condition data shared across all AI chassis-equipped vehicles within 24 hours.

Market Position and Competitors

While the G7 is positioned against the Tesla Model Y in size and segment, its price range puts it in direct competition with the LeDao L60 and Zeekr 7X. The L60 offers battery leasing options for a lower entry price and widespread swap stations, while the Zeekr 7X boasts standard LiDAR and available air suspension. XPeng differentiates the G7 with its AI-driven autonomous driving and exceptional cabin refinement.
